More than 20 years ago, ProcessMAP was founded on a humble but sincere vision to help companies utilize technology to provide a healthier and safer workplace for their employees and minimize the footprint we leave on the environment. This vision was rooted in a belief that every employee should be able to return home, at the end of the day, to his/her family and loved ones without encountering any workplace health or safety hazard, and that we leave the world in a better shape for our future generations.
Over the years, ProcessMAP has continued to collaborate with various EHS stakeholders, and thought leaders both within and beyond our customer community, industry analysts, end-users and others to co-innovate and bring cutting-edge solutions to the market that help EHS personnel make informed decisions.
To further advance our commitment to help support and positively influence the larger EHS community, ProcessMAP recently launched the ProcessMAP Safety Institute - a digital education platform that offers hands-on educational courses and certification programs for EHS professionals, both at a facility level as well as the corporate level. The programs will be offered free of charge and upon successful completion of the course, the participants will be awarded a digital certificate from ProcessMAP Safety Institute.
The ProcessMAP Safety Institute will initially offer a curriculum of 14 integrated courses. The first course – Principles of Control – will be offered in the format of weekly webinars on Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. EDT, for four weeks starting July 23, 2020. The subsequent courses, to be offered in the latter part of the year, include such topics as a deep-dive into Risk Assessments; controls pertaining to vehicles, machines and work equipment; hazards related to fire, electrical and chemicals; and will culminate with a manufacturing-excellence framework, such as World Class Manufacturing (WCM).
The course material will be presented by Phill Welch - a highly accomplished EHS leader with more than 20 years of global experience in operational excellence, manufacturing, and services. He joined ProcessMAP as a Senior Director, EHS Global Excellence, following a long career with Tarkett North America, where he served in numerous roles, including leading the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) program, and corporate director for EHS Operational Excellence. In his current role, Phill draws upon his experience in both facility and corporate EHS leadership roles to coach Fortune 1000 companies on driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental programs.

The ProcessMAP Safety Institute comes at a time when organizations, large and small, and economies across the world are significantly disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The spotlight is on EHS leaders to not only lead their workforce during this period of crisis and ensure a safe return-to-work environment, but also to establish practices that can build resilience for such unforeseen challenges in the future. With the ProcessMAP Safety Institute, we aim to help arm the entire EHS community with the knowledge, information and skills that can help them advance the cause of EHS excellence, at all levels and at all times.
